A very good quality small Edwardian oak roll top desk by Globe Wernicke (Globe Wernicke Co Ltd were making office furniture in the UK from the end of the 19th Century) with special s-shaped tambour top and central locking system:

• Genuine Antique Oak Roll top Desk by Globe Wernicke - Edwardian
• Seven drawers to the front elevation, including two double height ledger drawers
• Ivorine Globe Wernicke plate attached to the inside of one drawer.
• Well fitted interior to the top, with stationery compartments, drawers and pigeon-holes
• Writing slides to the top of both pedestals
• Central locking system - all drawers locked when tambour top is closed
• Dovetail joint construction to the drawers, with moulded wooden handles
• Panelled side and rear elevations
• Panelled modesty screen to the rear of the kneehole recess
• Original wheeled castors recessed to both pedestals
