A very pretty small Antique Mahogany Writing Desk, or Writing Table with three drawers by Maple & Co Ltd.  This desk dates from the late Victorian period c1900.  This particular piece has three drawers, two small drawers flanking a larger central frieze drawer. Each drawer having its original brass handles.  This is a small writing desk or writing table being well proportioned at 40inches width and 22inches in depth.  With a replacement good quality dark red embossed leather writing surface it has many original features including original brass castors and brown porcelain wheels and the beautiful turned legs. It has an original working lock and key to the central drawer with brass escutcheon.  This desk was originally designed to stand against a wall, hence while the sides are polished, the back is nicely finished it is not highly polished.  An excellent small desk that could stand alone in an office, study, hallway or sitting room or alternatively be used to add extra workspace to an office with a traditional Partners' or Pedestal desk of similar design.
