A few years after having established a successful, internet based, specialist antique desks dealership in 1996, Don Spencer retired with more than 40 years experience in the antiques business. Don was able to retire happy in the knowledge that the business he had worked so hard to develop, would be continued as a thriving entity, with aims and standards similar to his own.

Shortly prior to Don Spencer's retirement, and after 15 years as a collector of antique maps and furniture, the current owner, Steve Campbell, took up the challenge of furthering the development of the business. Steve had graduated with honours in history, some years earlier. More recently, the completion of an MBA at Stirling University and a management career in retailing with Marks & Spencer and GUS led Steve to the picturesque south west of England.

The antique desk business was acquired a few years ago and has now been relocated from Warwick to a private showroom within a few miles of Honiton in Devon, the renowned centre of the west country antiques trade. Steve Campbell is a member of The Furniture History Society and is now able to offer one of the largest selections of antique desks, writing tables and desk chairs in the UK. Each antique desk can be seen on the internet site at http://www.antiquedesks.net and can be viewed in Somerset by appointment (please phone or email to make arrangements and receive detailed directions).

If it is not possible or convenient to visit us in Somerset, we are able to offer a service which includes the delivery of up to three desks for customers to view on approval. A charge for this excellent service is made to contribute towards our costs, which is fully refundable if an antique desk is purchased. Delivery of purchased stock can be arranged worldwide at very competitive rates.

The comprehensive stock of desks is now located in a pleasant rural location, about two miles from the London to Exeter A303 trunk road, about 20 minutes drive north east of Honiton in Devon and less than 30 minutes drive from the Somerset County town of Taunton (junction 25 of the M5).
