A small Victorian mahogany writing or library table in restrained Gothic style, with the top edge of both drawers clearly stamped:

'A BLAIN & SON, LIVERPOOL'

Arthur Blain was a cabinet maker operating in Liverpool from about 1835.

FEATURES

• Twin drawers to the front frieze
• Dark green leather writing surface inset to the top
• Blind embossed and gold tooling to the inset leather
• Canted corners
• Brass lever locks to both drawers, both stamped 'VR'
• Brass keyhole liners to each drawer lock
• Turned mahogany legs
• Dust corner mouldings to each drawer interior
• Original brass drop ring cruciform handles to the drawers
• Mahogany lined drawers
• Plain polished side and rear frieze
• Handmade dovetail joints to both drawers.
