A small Victorian mahogany writing or library table in
restrained Gothic style,
with the top edge of both drawers clearly stamped:
'A BLAIN & SON, LIVERPOOL'
Arthur Blain was a cabinet maker operating in
Liverpool from about 1835.
FEATURES
- Twin drawers to the front frieze
- Dark green leather writing surface inset to
the top
- Blind embossed and gold tooling to the inset leather
- Canted corners
- Brass lever locks to both drawers, both
stamped 'VR'
- Brass keyhole liners to each drawer lock
- Turned mahogany legs
- Dust corner mouldings to each drawer
interior
- Original brass drop ring cruciform handles to the drawers
- Mahogany lined drawers
- Plain polished side and rear frieze
- Handmade dovetail joints to both drawers.

- Width = 42" (107cm). Depth = 21" (54cm)
- Sitting height (floor to the bottom of the
frieze) = 24" (61cm)
- Writing surface height from floor = 30"
(76cm)
- Drawer internal widths = 15.75" (39cm)
- Drawer internal depths (front to back) = 16" (41cm)
- Drawer internal heights = 2.5" (6.5cm).
