This rare and unusual Antique Edwardian Twin Writing Desk possibly an original Hotel Foyer Twin Writing Desk is a time warp example of Edwardian style.  It has a number of charming original features which add interest to the whole piece and would be a great feature in a hallway, study, living room or indeed the foyer of a stylish country house hotel or boutique hotel.  This desk has been fully restored including the electrical wiring for the lamp (fully PAT tested with certificate).  The lampshade can be removed so that it can be exchanged to fit with its surrounding decor as necessary and the shade shown in the photographs is for example only.

FEATURES -  4003 Antique Edwardian Twin Writing Desk

• Rare and unusual Antique Twin Writing Desk.  Possibly an original Hotel Foyer Writing Desk.  Dating from c1910 - Edwardian.
• Mahogany Hotel Foyer desk with twin frieze drawers.
• Two writing bays divided by a glass partition.  The glass being frosted and set in copper frames
• Each writing bay has numerous fitted letter pockets, a brass inkwell stand and a brass display card holder
• The original brass lamp has been re-wired and PAT tested
• The twin drawers have original brass handles and locks (no key)
• The back and sides to the superstructure have carved pediments
• The top and writing surface is raised on four square tapered legs.
• The original black "rexine" writing surface has been retained
• The back and sides to the desk are plain and polished, the desk having been design to stand against a wall.
• Lampshade can be interchanged to match room decor.  Shade in photograph shown as example only.
