Beautiful Victorian period Ebonised Writing Table in the Continental style.  A stylish Victorian ebonised and ormolu mounted parlour writing table with a series of small drawers to the desk top structure and having turned and reeded legs with ormolu decoration, the legs being united by classically shaped stretchers.  This fine table has a total of five drawers to top structure as well as a blind centre frieze drawer, each of the upper drawers having gilt handles.  With original brass castors and white porcelain wheels this is a stunning piece of furniture.  The writing surface is made of fine dark red leather.  Not stamped, but this fine table is certainly of the quality and style of a major cabinet maker of the Victorian period such as Edwards & Roberts.
