An Antique Mahogany Writing Desk, or Writing Table with four drawers dating from the mid-Victorian period.  This particular piece has four working drawers, two large drawers immediately below the top and two smaller drawers below, each drawer having turned wooden handles.  It has a feature arched kneehole and is well proportioned at 48inches width and 22inches in depth.  With a replacement good quality dark green leather writing surface it has many original features including original brass castors and white porcelain wheels and the beautiful turned and reeded legs.  This desk was originally designed to stand against a wall, hence while the sides are polished, the back is not.  An excellent small desk that could stand alone in an office, study, hallway or sitting room or alternatively be used to add extra workspace to an office with a traditional Partners' or Pedestal desk of similar design.
