A fine Antique Walnut Writing Table with twin frieze drawers dating from the mid-19thC.  This is a Continental piece and has superb burr walnut veneers to the working surface and polished, turned and carved walnut legs and feet.  Each leg has a feature carving towards the top. (See photo gallery). The stretcher between the legs is finely turned and polished .  With working locks and key, silver escutcheons and fine veneers this is a particular handsome writing table that could also be used as a side table, hall table or feature piece in an office or reception room.  Note that one of the drawer bases still bears the mark (in Germanic script) of the original maker or retailer.
