A nine drawer Antique Small Oak Pedestal Desk with historical connections.  This antique small oak pedestal desk can be dated to 1889 since it bears a dated silver plaque (see Gallery photos) stating that the desk was the leaving present for a Clergyman in Ripon, Yorkshire, UK in 1889. (We have traced  the gentleman in question and can provide a brief and very interesting biography to the purchaser of this desk.  We have also verified his tenure with the church in Ripon).  In addition this desk also bears the label of the local cabinet maker in Ripon who constructed the desk together with the original blue lining paper to the frieze drawers

This three piece antique oak pedestal desk comes with original wheeled castors and working brass locks with key.  It has its original delicate brass handles and an embossed and gilded green leather writing surface making it a particularly interesting desk suitable for a home office, study or work area or indeed a sitting room or hallway given its nice proportions and impressive colouring.
