An Antique Continental Extending Pedestal Desk mage from solid fruitwood and dating from the late nineteenth-century.  This is a traditional twin pedestal desk with turned wooden handles and a very nice patinated dark green leather writing surface.  The desk is of a very good quality with brass fittings (locks, castors etc).  Of particular interest is the fact that this  genuine Antique Continental Extending Pedestal Desk has extending writing slides to each side (see photo gallery).  Each of these slides has a matching dark green leather writing surface (although obviously less used than the main top of the desk).  When extended the slides make the overall width of the desk an impressive 87".  Overall this is an excellent desk of handsome appearance and offering a very useful large working surface.
